What is Pilates?

Pilates is a uniquely precise and intelligent approach to exercise and body-conditioning, which gives you a leaner, suppler, more toned body and a calmer, more relaxed mind.

It takes its name from Joseph Pilates, a German-born emigré to Britain and then America, who devised it in the early part of the last century.

The Principles of Pilates

There are eight principles of the Pilates Technique combining eastern and western philosophies teaching you to breathe with movement, whilst incorporating control, centering, precision and isolation within a flowing movement.

  6. Isolation
  7. Control
  8. Routine

Pilates Full Beginner’s Course in 3 personal sessions

We know some clients can’t commit to a lot of the Pilates beginner’s course dates, or need more 1-1 attention.

You get 3 personal Pilates sessions (times and dates that suit your schedule) in the studio (normal individual price would be £35 each). We will cover the full beginner’s course with you on a 1–1 basis. You will receive all Pilates beginner’s notes

Ideal for anyone with spinal problems, shoulder issues, older, not exercised for a long time, self conscious about being in a group class, mental health problems, overweight, osteoporosis etc. You will be fully equipped with the basics of Pilates at the end of the three 1–1 session!

If you need a 30-min consultation before the Pilates course, this costs an extra £12.

Each session lasts 45min

3 1–1 sessions £80

3 1–2 sessions £110

Pilates Intermediate

Please note: Intermediate classes are for clients with Pilates experience only. Each class is £8.
